Bring Edgar Barens to Your Community for a Screening and Conversation

Oscar nominated filmmaker Edgar Barens is now offering in-person screenings of his acclaimed documentary Prison Terminal: The Last Days of Private Jack Hall, along with an intimate and thought-provoking presentation drawn from his many years working inside prisons and advocating for compassionate end of life care.

Following the film’s highly successful HBO broadcast, Edgar has continued to share this work across the country. His experience presenting for the Humane Prison Hospice Project, speaking at national conferences, and meeting with small groups of correctional administrators has given him a unique ability to connect with audiences of all kinds. Whether the room is filled with students, health care providers, incarcerated people, volunteers, or policymakers, Edgar’s presentations always land with honesty, clarity, and heart.

A screening and presentation are a great fit for:
• Prisons considering or developing hospice programs
• Universities and medical or social work programs
• Hospitals and community hospice organizations
• Faith communities and civic groups
• Conferences on health care, justice reform, or end of life issues

Each event includes a full screening of Prison Terminal followed by an engaging Q and A session that invites reflection, questions, and open conversation about what compassionate care can look like behind the walls. Audiences often describe the experience as moving, eye-opening, and deeply humanizing.

Edgar brings all the audio and visual equipment needed for a successful screening. All you provide is a wall and an audience.
